1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Iris ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Iris is a third-party client for viewing YouTube content. It is developed by Zero Divide Ltd. and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC. The app lets you browse, search and watch videos, and manage your own subscriptions, history and playlists using your existing YouTube account.

3. Your YouTube Account

Iris does not create accounts of its own. Signing in is optional and uses YouTube's own sign-in page; your credentials are entered directly with Google and are never seen or stored by us. When signed in, the app acts on your behalf with YouTube (for example to record watch history or subscribe to a channel), and your use of YouTube through Iris remains subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

4. User Conduct

You agree to use the app in compliance with all applicable laws and YouTube's Terms of Service. You will not use Iris to:

• Violate any laws or regulations

• Download, store or redistribute video or audio content

• Circumvent YouTube's access controls or rate limits

• Harass, abuse or harm others

• Engage in any activity that disrupts the service

5. Iris Pro Subscriptions & Purchases

Some features are unlocked by an optional purchase ("Iris Pro"), offered as an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription or a one-off lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies.

6. YouTube Content

All content accessed through the app remains the property of its respective owners. Iris does not host, cache on our servers, or claim ownership of any content; it is fetched directly from YouTube when you browse and reflects YouTube's current state. Content removed from YouTube will no longer appear in the app. Copyright concerns should be reported directly to YouTube.

7. Child Safety Standards

Iris, developed by Zero Divide Ltd., strictly prohibits all forms of CSAE and CSAM. Because Iris displays content from YouTube and does not host any content, moderation is handled by YouTube's Trust & Safety team. Content can be reported to YouTube via YouTube's own reporting tools.

8. Third-Party Disclaimer

YouTube and the YouTube logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Iris is an independent product. SponsorBlock chapter data is provided by the community-run SponsorBlock project under its own licence.

9. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Because Iris depends on YouTube's services, features may change or stop working if YouTube changes. We are not responsible for content published by YouTube users.

10. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. Iris does not sell, rent or share your personal data with anyone, and runs no analytics or tracking of its own.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

Iris has no servers of its own and does not collect personal information. The app stores the following locally on your device only:

• App preferences and settings (themes, filters, gestures)

• Your YouTube sign-in session (cookies), so you stay signed in between launches

• Cached thumbnails and feed data to make the app faster

• Local watch-progress positions

3. What YouTube / Google Can See

Because Iris connects directly to YouTube to function, YouTube can see:

• Your IP address (as with any internet request)

• The content you request to view

• When signed in, the actions you take (watch history, likes, subscriptions)

Google processes this information under its own Privacy Policy, exactly as when using YouTube's own apps. By using Iris you are also subject to YouTube's terms and privacy policies.

4. Third-Party Services

This app interacts with the following third-party services:

• YouTube / Google - content, search and account features

• SponsorBlock (optional, Pro) - when enabled, the app requests chapter segments for the video you are watching from the SponsorBlock API. Only the video ID is sent.

• RevenueCat - processes Iris Pro purchases. It receives an anonymous app-user ID and purchase receipts from the App Store or Google Play; no name or email.

• App Store / Google Play - app distribution and payments under their own policies

5. No Analytics or Tracking

Iris contains no analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs or crash reporters, and does not track you across apps or websites.

6. Security

Your session data is stored in the app's private sandbox on your device, and all connections to YouTube and other services use HTTPS.

7. Children's Privacy

This application is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

8. Your Control & Data Deletion

• Sign out at any time from the Account tab to remove your session

• Clear cached data from Settings

• Delete the app to remove all local data

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing further for us to delete.

9. Legal Basis for Processing

10. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
