YouTube,
zero clutter.

Built for people who just want to watch. A fast, native player, deep customisation, and a clean interface that stays out of your way.

01 Features

What you get

Here are just a few of the things that make Iris a better way to watch.

Distraction-Free Player

Background play, Picture in Picture, chapters and a clean, gesture-driven layout. Just the video.

Your Subscriptions

Home, Subscriptions, History, Liked, Watch Later and every playlist - all synced with your YouTube account.

Feed Filters

Hide Shorts and block any number of channels or keywords from every feed. Your subscriptions, your rules.

Themes & Icons

Dynamic colour themes, a full custom theme editor and a shelf of alternate app icons, from AMOLED black to retrowave.

Swipe Gestures

Swipe on any video to save, queue, share or hide. Configure what short, medium and long swipes do.

SponsorBlock

Community-sourced chapter markers on the timeline so you can jump straight to the good part.

Multiple Accounts

Sign in to several YouTube accounts and switch between them with a tap.

Made for iPad

Split View puts a subscriptions sidebar beside your feed on larger screens. Rotation and Stage Manager just work.

03 Privacy

Everything stays on your device

01

Nothing leaves your phone

All your settings and sessions stay on your device. Nothing syncs to a cloud of ours.

02

Iris has zero servers

There's no backend and no analytics, so what you watch is never uploaded or stored anywhere by us.

03

Your login never touches us

Sign-in happens on YouTube's own page, so Iris never sees or stores your Google password.

05 FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Iris free?
Yes. Browsing, search, your subscriptions, history and playlists, background play, Picture in Picture, chapters and comments are all free. An optional Iris Pro purchase unlocks the customisation extras and supports development, but you never have to pay to use the app.
Is my Google account safe when I sign in?
You sign in on YouTube's own login page inside the app. Iris has no servers of its own, so your credentials and activity never pass through us. Everything the app stores stays on your device.
Do I need a YouTube account?
No. You can search and watch without signing in. Signing in adds your personalised home feed, subscriptions, history, Liked videos, Watch Later and playlists, all synced with YouTube.
Can I download videos?
No. Downloading isn't permitted by YouTube's terms, so Iris doesn't offer it. Iris is a viewer for content you already have access to on YouTube.
What devices does Iris run on?
Iris runs on iPhone and iPad (with a dedicated Split View layout) and on Android phones and tablets.
How do I get support or request a feature?
Email [email protected] or visit the support page for help and feature requests.
